As an adaptively repurposed event facility, we have taken steps to preserve and enhance the natural environment, including relocating trees and planting new ones while using low-voltage lighting. We actively collaborate with local eco-artists to create unique installations, murals and sculptures.

A global framework for regenerative development.

By applying the Regenerative Placemaking Framework to the development of the Climate + Innovation HUB, we are demonstrating how innovative environmental-social-governance (ESG) strategies can generate outsized returns while revitalizing local communities.

URBAN

Agriculture

Urban agriculture embodies the practice of cultivating, processing, and distributing food within urban environments. Utilizing innovative techniques such as rooftop gardens, vertical farming, and community plots, urban agriculture addresses the challenges of food security, sustainability, and limited space in cities. By bringing fresh produce closer to urban populations, it fosters local self-sufficiency, reconnects people with the food they consume, and contributes to greener and more resilient cities.

Infrastructure

Resource and waste management is crucial for sustainable development as it helps us to conserve natural resources, reduce pollution and environmental degradation, and mitigate the impacts of climate change. By utilizing new technologies we are able to monitor our waste, water, energy and emissions to refine and adapt our infrastructure to identify waste streams and locate additional local support that can assist our efforts in continually improving towards lowering our waste, increasing our efficiency and decreasing our carbon footprint.

  • Solar Panels

    Boasting 209 Solar Panels to generate up to 62.7 kWh of sustainable energy through the powers of the sun, our facility aims to reduce emissions and boost self sufficiency for climate resilience.

  • Rainwater Catchment (coming soon)

    Utilizing and repurposing this abundant & sustainable water source supports our climate resilience initiatives to mitigate flooding and erosion by reducing water runoff and decrease the burden on municipalities’ water supplies.

  • Community Garden

    In collaboration with the Little River Cooperative, we’re building and planting a cooperative garden. Through this initiative we seek to empower our communities to grow their own food & medicine through education & exposure to farming in an urban environment.

Sustainability Intelligence

Sustainability intelligence involves using big data to make environmentally appropriate decisions. We utilize Atrius Technology to monitor our waste production, energy consumption and emissions year over year to determine how much waste our events send to landfills annually.

Resource Management

We work with the county & local organizations to manage excess waste as a result of daily operations by recycling, composting and identifying & minimizing our waste stream whenever possible.

Single-Use Plastic Free

In an effort to protect and conserve the environment, we are reducing our reliance on single-use plastic and are committed to eliminating single-use plastic throughout all of our events. Through our local partnership with Lean Orb, all of our events are supplied with their compostable products.

Composting

Composting is taking the diverted food waste & turning it into nutrient rich soil by adding carbon (mulch), oxygen, & water. Our local partners at renüable assist us in managing our food waste from events to ensure it is transformed into nutrient rich soils.

Circularity

Responsible food waste management helps reduce the amount of food waste sent to landfills and minimizes environmental harm, promoting the importance of recycling and encouraging a circular economy.

Closing the Loop

By designing closed-loop systems within our organization we are capturing resources and utilizing for the inputs needed for regenerative farming. These captured waste streams are turned into valuable ingredients, creating biologically rich inputs that are utilized for nutrient-dense & resilient soils.
